Ann Curry
Ann Curry was born in the United States and is a photographer and journalist. Over the past forty-five years, she's focused her efforts on the reporting of human suffering, especially in natural disasters and wars. Curry covered the conflicts within Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry, born November 19 1956 (Agana) was an American journalist, who was an anchor on television. Curry gained notoriety for her reporting of human rights crises, natural disasters and other emergencies which occurred in war-ravaged areas. Curry's Japanese-American mother as well as her U.S. Navy-sailor dad were both prominent figures within Curry's personal life. Her parents met while her father was stationed in Japan following World War II. Because of her father's work as a military officer, they moved a lot. They finally arrived in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. She earned a journalism diploma at the University of Oregon in 1978. The diversity of her experiences and experiences during her upbringing probably influenced her approach to communicating about global issues. Curry along with her husband frequently moved, so she did not stay in one school more than 2 years. She and her husband travelled to numerous locations such as San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Then, she graduated from Ashland High School. In Medford where she began her broadcasting career at KTVL Channel 10 as an intern. at the age of 22, she was able to become the first reporter to be female at KTVL. She then moved up to anchoring and reporting for KGW, an NBC-affiliated station in Portland. Then she returned into Los Angeles four years later as a journalist for KCBS TV. Two Emmy Awards were won during the six years she worked for TV station KCBS.
